Daily new fad diets appear in the market offering an easy cure to the weighty dilemma of numerous obese people. But the diets almost always fail because they do not change a persson's eating habits. To really succeed you must count your calories and keep a record of what you are consuming throughout the day. You will be amazed that not many people are consciously aware of their eating habits. If you keep a careful record of each morsel you put in your mouth you will be amazed to see the results. You must understand the basic eating habits you have and then you will be able to solve your weight problem.

Here are some of the questions you must answer and write down to find out your bad eating habits and then improve upon them. Do you eat whilst working in the kitchen, whilst cleaning the house, feeding the dog or watching TV? Do you eat fast? People who eat fast take in more calories than people who eat slowly. When you are in a hurry, you will gobble food without realizing how much you are' eating and therefore you are overweight. Therefore before you eat, look at the food, thank god for the delicious food he has put before you and then take your food, eat slowly, chew thoroughly and enjoy your food. Cut the food into small pieces and eat one piece at a time. In this way you will not only enjoy your food, you will also eat less, keep down your weight and say goodbye to acidity and flatulence. Do not load you house with food. If your fridge and kitchen is loaded with food, it is but natural that you are going to be tempted to eat it. Try to keep low-calorie foods in the house so that even if you are tempted, your food does not give you added calories.

Most of the time food is eaten when you are alone and bored. So try to keep yourself occupied with some hobby or pastime which takes your mind away from food. Last but not the least write down a schedule of what and when you will eat that day and stick to it. If you have scheduled lunch for 2 on a particular day do not eat the meal before 2 even if you are hungry, you can eat rabbit food till that time and nothing else. This together with exercise will surely keep your weight down.
